Stephanie Marckel

My journey to Pilates began around 2016 in a way I never expected. I was working out with a personal trainer who also happened to be a Pilates instructor, and after my very first reformer session with her, I was hooked! I practically "fired" her as my personal trainer on the spot and immediately started attending her Pilates group classes two to three times a week. I just absolutely loved how Pilates made me feel – it was a sensation of strength and well-being unlike anything else.

After many years navigating the fast-paced, high-pressure world of corporate America as a project manager, I found that my Pilates classes became my sanctuary. They encouraged me to check my "nonsense" at the door, allowing me to focus my thoughts and energy solely on myself for that hour. I truly cherished that time to recenter, leaving each class feeling stronger, more balanced, and more confident, both physically and mentally, ready to tackle the rest of my day.

In 2022 I decided to embark on a comprehensive 500-hour teacher training course to become a certified Pilates instructor. Initially, my goal was simply to teach a couple of hours a week alongside my full-time job. However, the more I taught, the more I realized a powerful truth: I was a better, more upbeat person while guiding a class than I was in endless Zoom meetings. My passion for project management was waning, while my passion for encouraging others to find their own strength and joy through movement was becoming an overriding drive.

Last year, I took the ultimate leap, stepping away from my corporate career to fully dedicating myself to opening my own studio. While I’m learning a LOT about the intricacies of owning a business and have had some hurdles with getting it off the ground, I know, without a doubt, that it will be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I can’t wait to pour all my energy into creating classes that are not just challenging and transformative, but also incredibly encouraging and, dare I say, genuinely fun! My ultimate goal is to help others discover the same joy and empowerment I found in Pilates, all while striving to live each day with purpose and intention, truly appreciating this blessed life.
